Ultrasound-guided placement of the embryo into the uterine cavity, in a fresh or deferred cycle.

What is it?

Embryo transfer is the procedure in which one or more embryos are placed into the uterine cavity through a catheter under ultrasound guidance, in most cases without general anesthesia.

Who is it for?

It forms part of every IVF, egg donation, or embryo adoption treatment.

Approximate duration

The procedure takes a few minutes; the pregnancy test is performed approximately one to two weeks later, per your physician's protocol.
