In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
Eggs are fertilized in the laboratory and embryos cultured before transfer or vitrification.
What is it?
In Vitro Fertilization is an assisted reproduction treatment in which eggs are retrieved and fertilized in the laboratory; the resulting embryos are cultured for several days before being transferred to the uterus or vitrified for a later cycle.
Who is it for?
May be considered in cases of tubal factor, male factor, endometriosis, low ovarian reserve, unexplained infertility, or when previous treatments have not resulted in pregnancy.
Approximate duration
A standard IVF cycle typically spans several weeks, depending on your stimulation protocol and response; your physician will outline your specific timeline at your evaluation.
Technology and technique
At CEMPI the embryology laboratory uses time-lapse embryo monitoring and sperm microinjection techniques (ICSI and PICSI) when indicated, along with preimplantation genetic testing options.
How the process works
