Short-Stay Surgical Procedures

These include gynecologic interventions performed with minimally invasive techniques, mainly hysteroscopy and laparoscopy, that diagnose and treat different conditions through small incisions or natural body openings, often reducing the need for open abdominal surgery.

May be indicated for endometrial polyps, fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, endometriosis, ovarian cysts or masses, tubal abnormalities, ectopic pregnancy, selected uterine abnormalities, and conditions associated with infertility.

At CEMPI, selected hysteroscopic procedures may require approximately 20 to 30 minutes in the operating room, followed by 2 to 3 hours of monitoring before discharge is considered. Selected laparoscopic procedures may take approximately 1 to 2 hours; more complex surgeries require additional time and a longer recovery.

Operating facilities within the clinical unit itself. Hysteroscopy uses a thin scope introduced vaginally, with no abdominal incisions; laparoscopy uses a camera and instruments through small incisions to assess the uterus, tubes, and ovaries.
